Death and Life 6:95

Surely it is God (Allah) who causes the various, dry grain seeds and date stones from the palm trees to germinate. He gives life to the dead, and death to the living. God controls life and death. How then are you diverted from him?

God creates life from seemingly dead matter. We were dead before we were alive. We were nothing until God created us in our perfect forms. Not perfect in the physical sense, but perfect in the moral sense.

We were created pure and good.The death of our pure and original nature is caused by the culture we are born into. That is the death we should fear. That is the death we should actively keep at a distance.

God says in the Quran, "Die, that you may live." Scripture tells us that we must die to our ignorance before we can live in good sense. God says, "Die that you may live." Die to your corruption! Die to your wicked ways! Death and life are just means to an end. And that end is our return to our Creator.
