Right Behavior - The Qur'an Leads the Way 17:13

And We made each man's portion, from the benefit or the harm, a clinging on his neck, and We will carry out and We will make apparent to him the page of his deeds spread out and opened on a day mankind will be resurrected from their graves.

Allah has compelled our deeds to hold on to us, both the benefit (good) and the harm (bad). It can be said that these deeds fly out from us as an arrow. However, we are not compelled to live a particular way. The challenge of life is to live right without compulsion. It is Allah who determines the fortune or misfortune from our deeds.

Allah states that on the Day of Resurrection a book will be brought forth for each person and that book will be wide open. This can be understood to be the book that contains all of our deeds.

In the community of Imam W.D. Muhammed, there is the community flag which has on it an opened book that looks like a bird flying with wings spread out. On the book written in Arabic are the words "There is no deity except Allah, Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah". This idea can be found throughout the book. The book is the Qur'an and it is sure guidance for mankind. All of the Qur'an is the word of Allah. It can be said that the Qur'an soars above all and guides mankind in his spirit, his thinking, and his actions.

In family life, the parents are responsible for teaching the children and the mother is the first teacher. It is important for the parents to live their lives following Allah's guidance found in the Holy Qur'an so that they may teach their children what is right and be good role models for them.
